Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 19, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Leaf Ledger. This Privacy Policy explains how Leaf Ledger LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Leaf Ledger mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to ensuring your privacy and keeping your journaling data secure.

2. Age Restriction

Due to the nature of the products tracked within Leaf Ledger, this App is strictly intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we discover that a user under 21 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete that data and terminate their access to the App.

3. Information We Collect

Leaf Ledger is designed with a “local-first” architecture to maximize your privacy.

  • No Account Required: We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or password.
  • Local Journal Data: All information you enter into the App—including product names, consumption methods, dates, ratings, open-text journal entries, and symptom tracking data—is stored locally in a secure SQLite database directly on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or store your journal entries or health-related data on external servers.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect strictly to provide and improve the App’s functionality. Your data is used to:

  • Maintain your personal consumption ledger and symptom journal.
  • Display your historical data, trends, and preferences.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

Health and Symptom Tracking Disclaimer: Any symptom data or health-related information you track within Leaf Ledger is for personal journaling purposes only. It is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Future AI and Recommendation Features: We are continuously working to improve Leaf Ledger. In the future, we plan to introduce features that utilize artificial intelligence to analyze your journal entries and provide personalized product recommendations. When these features are implemented, we will update this policy and request your explicit in-app consent before your data is processed by any external AI models. Currently, your data is not used to train external AI models.

5. Data Storage and Sharing

Because your journal data is stored locally on your device, we do not have access to it. Consequently, we cannot and do not share, sell, or transmit your personal data or journal entries to any outside individuals, advertisers, or third-party data brokers.

  • Device Backups: Depending on your device settings, your local app data may be backed up to your personal cloud storage (such as Apple iCloud or Google Drive). These backups are subject to the privacy policies and security measures of Apple or Google, respectively.
  • Subscription Billing (RevenueCat): Leaf Ledger uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect transaction history and device identifiers necessary to process and validate purchases. We do not receive your payment details. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • App Updates (Expo / EAS): The App uses Expo’s over-the-air update infrastructure to deliver app updates silently to your device. This process may involve Expo’s servers. For more information, see the Expo Privacy Policy.

6. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data. Because Leaf Ledger is a local-only application, your data is securely sandboxed within your device’s local storage. This means your journal entries are protected by your device’s native security features (such as passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID). While we implement these industry-standard local storage practices, no electronic storage system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Portability and Export

We believe you should always have access to your own information. Leaf Ledger provides a built-in feature that allows you to export your entire journal history into a CSV or JSON file.

  • User-Initiated: This export is triggered only by you.
  • Local Processing: The export file is generated locally on your device.
  • Sharing and Storage: Once the file is generated, you are responsible for its security. If you choose to share this file via email, cloud storage, or other third-party apps, those actions are subject to the privacy policies of those respective services. We do not receive a copy of your exported data.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as we roll out new AI-driven features or infrastructure updates. We will notify you of any significant changes through an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy.
